The siege of Glantry City has finally ended, with the legions of orcs finally getting bored and wandering off in search of new and exciting cities to plunder. The brave heroes began to feel the heaviness of heart that says that its time to go home. The pleasant winter journey back to Honshar was interrupted by an ambush laid out by band of gnolls. The battle was fast and furious, with the Oblivious Mr. Wind being neatly impaled early in the encounter, and the Amazing One losing his magik sword almost immediately after the battle began. The enemy was eventually thwarted and the wounds were healed. It was decided that it would be best if Torg's sword was kept in the wagon for safe keeping.
While stopped for an evening's rest and a visit to the mineral baths in Tolwrath, the mighty ones became involved in a small disagreement in the tavern when a trio of dwarves accused another group of theft. The disagreement soon became a scuffle, which eventually progressed into a full-scale brawl that nearly ruined the establishment. Kain was personally insulted by a nimble-footed scoundrel to such an extent that a battle to the death was the only way for Kain to keep his honor. Everyone else threw their honor to the wind and engaged in random acts of violence with anyone still standing in the room. Once the fighting was done, and the dwarves who started the whole commotion reclaimed their stolen possession,a whole new adventure was set into action. The newly reclaimed item was a scepter, and as it was picked up, an vision appeared and said something about the Wyrmskull Throne and `join hands and speak Tarak'. Just as the heroic heroes were whisked off through time and space, Torg was heard to say:
Hey, I think I left my sword in the wagon...Its a good thing that Willamina was back at the wagon to look after things.
Splash... The heroes ended up falling into the ocean with no land in sight. Unrau quickly cast his water breathing spell that gave everyone about an hour before they drowned. The heavily armoured crew quickly sank to the bottom and settled in what was obviously a ship graveyard. The party was split up with the Amazing One landing in a ruined ship along with Bapar the drawven prince. They were set upon by a gellatenous monster that quickly incapacitated the dwarf before it began consuming Torg. Rather than trying to fight his way out, Torg elected to eat his way out with disastrous results; Torg suffocated before he could gorge himself to safety. Meanwhile, a villainous character riding a floating, skull-covered throne (perhaps the Wyrmskull Throne) arrived with his fish-headed goons and attacked the rest of the party. The villain stole away with the body of the dead dwarf prince and his magik scepter. Unrau revived Torg, much to everyones relief. Shortly thereafter, the heroes were attacked by a giant eel creature and Kain met his demise. A pair of water-dwelling creatures arrived on the scene and started off with the Kain-corpse. The bewildered party followed the pair to a glorious underwater city, where they were directed to a building that was so remarkably surface-like that it even contained air. By this point the valiant ones had discovered that they could breathe the water, even if it was uncomfortable.
As the party was discussing their situation with the surviving dwarf, Olaf the Priest, Denam the Dakar came to visit them. He explained that the city was named Mithrandar and that it maintained a four mile zone where the air was breathable by surface dwellers. He also said that there were rumours regarding the return of the Wyrmskull Throne. He arranged for the body of Kain to be returned to the party. Wind used his diplomacy skills to negotiate a deal with Olaf: Olaf would revive Kain if the party agreed to find Prince Bapar and the scepter. He explained that the scepter was none other than Alatoria, the Scepter of Hollerarar, one of the ten scepters of the Dwarf Kingdoms. With the ten scepters and the Wyrmskull Throne a ruler would be invincible. Phil, Torg and Unrau decided to start the quest early and went back out to the ship cemetery. They came across a band of aquatic rogues accosting some innocent citizens of Mithrandar. They did their heroic duty and dispatched the evil-doers. Actually Torg dispatched the evil-doers while Unrau and Phil watched. The three of them were taken back to the city and treated like true heroes complete with awards and feasts.
By this time there is some speculation in the group that Willamina might have taken Torg's magik sword, become proficient at it, and is currently awaiting his return to slay him and become the heroes' arch-nemesis.
The company was thouroughly unsure of what their next step should be; they wanted to return home, but they had promised Olaf that they would find the scepter and rescue Prince Bapar. Besides, they had no idea how to get home. So they shopped, and looked around, and went for long walks. They observed a pirate attack on a ship and realized that these attacks were what kept the ship graveyard so large. They captured one of the pirates and learned that he was part of the Red Wizards of Doom, who maintained a stronghold on the mainland coast near Stormgate. They still didn't know how to reclaim the scepter or get home.
They marched off north-west from Mithrandar on somewhat of a whim. After some minor encounters with sea-dwellers, they came across a cave that was guarded by some fish-headed creatures that were very similar to the ones accompanying the evil thief of the Wyrmskull Throne. Battle happened, the heroes were victorious, and they gained entry to the cave. Inside the cave, they found two sea-dwellers who were also about to attack this cave and free all of the slaves inside. They two forces joined and successfully defeated all of the guards, including a clay golom who was a most challenging foe. The slaves were released and the two forces bade each other farewell. The heroes were alone once more to save the world from evil (and to get home). They found the villain and the rest of his thugs. Battle happened again, and the villain was eventually chased away. The villain, in his haste to leave, left an entire hoard of treasure behind. The heroes took all of the loot that they could carry. But the loot was barely compensation enough for the losses suffered. Almost the entire party was injured nearly to death, Mr. Wind lost one of his arms, and Unrau was left feeble-minded from one of the villan's spells. The scepter and throne were recovered, however, and will be handed back to the dwarves in return for the healing of the injured comrades.
